I wouldn't dream of disturbing the esteemed ladies thereof with a private matter.

No - my lady LeBlanc has agreed to lend her support to my offer to train some of your infants in the more mundane forms of problem-solving. ( "hitting people until they stop disagreeing with you" ) She suggested your name and Madame de Fer's as potentially capable of tolerating me long enough to discuss best methods and my background.

( one of these days, martel will learn to be less proprietary of the people he likes.

just kidding. that will never happen. )

Consider my offer a supplemental tool to your own work with the Templar woman. ( which is not a dismissive term in its tone, but descriptive; he doesn't know her name, offhand. ) I don't imagine anyone finds my presence all that comforting, but for those whose old fears might stop them pursuing something with the two of you, a sympathetic outsider might have some success.

And some of them are sheltered children thrust into the midst of a war. It's not unfamiliar to me. I was taught to navigate politics, I could teach it to another.

Knight-Captain Hill.

( there is no edge to potentially misunderstand, but his tone isn't placatory, either; repetition to cement the name in his memory. the family name, he presumes, as is more common here than in eosia. perhaps he needs one, the better to fit in. damerel, he supposes. though if he could choose any he liked -

better not to get diverted. he did send the message to a purpose, and it wasn't self-indulgence. )

Rather my thought. Those whose reluctance might stem more from what they imagine of her allegiances than a lack of desire to learn - they might benefit from an alternative. Don't mistake me, I haven't adopted the quarrel; I merely see it's effects.

( he does find it slightly amusing to imagine himself ever the less intimidating option. a bit of that might linger, in his voice. )

And what with that war and all, my experience might be useful.
